Who they are
Atánquez is home to the Kankuamo people of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, known for their weaving, traditional medicine, and spiritual connection to the land. Local artisans and healers continue to share ancestral wisdom through craft, song, and ceremony.
Led by Anosh, known as El Atanquero, the community bridges tradition and modern expression, inspiring the next generation to live and create in harmony with nature.
Their dream
To build a fair-trade system that protects women artisans, honours ancestral craft, and opens doors for visitors to learn about weaving, music, and medicine through authentic cultural exchanges.

Our partnership with El Atanquero is mutual. He trains our people in cultural sensitivity and community connection, while Elev-Eight supports his vision to build sustainable digital and economic models for his community.
