Authentic connection with life.

The goal of the trip

The children at Humanitas School live in poverty. They arrive each day hungry and go home hungry. The school is about to open a school kitchen but needs our help to fund the cooks and pay for the ingredients to make the dinners. Our vision is that this trip will provide food for every child attending education in Ayensuako for a year. There are currently 290 student, many of which only have one meal a day if they are lucky. The issue

One of the biggest challenges associated with poverty in Ghana is the lack of education in rural areas. Many children in these communities do not attend school, either because there are no schools nearby or because their families cannot afford the fees. This lack of education can perpetuate the cycle of poverty, as children who do not attend school are less likely to be able to secure well-paying jobs in the future.

The rural village of Ayensuako has undergone a transformation since the launch of Humanitas Charity's education program in 2014. The program consists of a pre, primary, and secondary school that supports 290 children. Additionally, the program has recently added a sewing room, a school kitchen, and a plot of land dedicated to growing food to feed the children.

The experience of your life

This experience is not for the faint hearted. Whilst in Ayensuako we will sleep in pop up mosquito tents on mattresses on the floor at the school, which is one of two places in the village with functioning toilets. This we believe adds to the experience. You will be pushed far out of your comfort zone, wifi is limited, BUT you will never experience anything like it. So for 3 nights, get ready to camp under the African Skies.

Our experience include workshops, training, and sports centered activities led by you, around the interests and skills of the group at the Humanitas Schools.

The fact that you will be learning and sharing skills and experiences with the local community adds an extra dimension to the project, making it not just a one-way flow of resources, but a reciprocal exchange of knowledge and culture.

Ghana is a unique and unforgettable experience.
